You are my sunshine

Some times it's hard for Katie Ray and me to find some "us time", so some days we plan to get up *very* early together. 

There are days that Mac gets up first but now and again we manage to find some mother-daughter time. The other day we managed to sneak out to the kitchen to make cocoa and hang out just us...

when the sun started to come up we went outside to welcome the day!

She is my sunshine!! 😍

First grade work zone

Now that Katie Ray does homework every night we needed to transform her Lego zone into a homework zone!

I promised we could do some redecorating (she's envisioning purple walls, a canopy, and lego project displays) if we could also do some weeding out of toys, knick knacks and general stuff every where.  Negotiations are now in process!

Katie Ray and I slipped out for a little afternoon outing yesterday while Mac napped and Matt nursed his thrown-out back. 

It was HOT this weekend! We needed a cold treat. 

But we also had to do a little Halloween shopping at CVS. 

She suggested I might want to invest in a costume of my own.

Katie Ray and I visited my friend Michael...while KR expected to have fun at the pool, finding a new feathered friend was a happy surprise!

Now she and her little friends can wear them too!

So helpful to have good vision when you're an artist!

Even more so if you're actually a professional eye doctor like Barbie!

It feels like only yesterday that Katie Ray was teething and getting her first "toofy" smile, and now she's a gap toothed gal!

Hotel

Katie Ray somehow convinced Mac to play hotel this weekend. They both actually had a great time! Here they are ordering poolside dining at their resort. 

They ordered sandwiches, ice water and fruit. This waitress was happy to oblige!

Before they checked into the hotel they got some housework done!

Katie Ray started camp this week!

 

Six years old!

First week of camp ended this week and she had a great time!

Oh happy day!

Katie Ray pretty much brings joy to all that she does. 

Including playing in the backyard with baby Mac. 

They have so much fun together lately.

A beautiful weekend in LA made even more special by a visit from Grandma.

Katie Ray turned six on Monday. From Disney on Saturday to special dinner Sunday, cupcakes in school on monday and out for sushi dinner Monday night, you think we'd be done! But we are still celebrating when namma and papa arrive this weekend, too!
