Number 2401

This says:
Number 2401
Always take your brother away from his room.

I'm not sure what that means but my heart is swelling with pride for my girl sounding out words all by herself. This is the second time she has presented me with a document she's sounded out and written herself. Tomorrow I'll post the first one.

Meanwhile, she's also been very proscriptive in the art department lately. I'm laid up in bed with back pain so she's spent part of the day next to me doing some drawings.

A cat wearing a hat with a ball of yarn.

Katie Ray and me, as foxes in a field of flowers (or clouds). Obviously hats are having a moment right now in animal fashion.

Brave little patient

Friday night is movie night in our house and this week was no exception.
It is always a great way to kick off the weekend. Pizza delivery and kicking back
on the sofa.
But Saturday morning poor little KR woke up with a bad stomach ache that got worse fast. She was sick all day.  The saddest part when she gets sick is how stoic she is. She's actually going through a whiny phase right now (at least I hope it's a phase!) but all day she was tough and not a single complaint.

By 8pm she was feeling so much better ... iPad time and ginger ale made for a very happy girl.

And then we told her it was bed time and she started whining again. Oh well. At least we know she's back to her old self!

Walk like an Egyptian

Happy Halloween.

Katie Ray chose to be cleopatra for Halloween this year. Here she is in hair and makeup.
We got an amazing Liz Taylor wig that she chose, too, but it was itchy so we skipped that.

Halloween starts early here and by 5pm we were at a party that had started an hour earlier!

Here she is trick or treating at her kindergarten teacher Mrs. Hibbert's house after a good two hours out with her friends.

Mrs. Hibbert's dog Elodie was a good witch and did tricks for KR.
