Lady in Red

I know I've titled at least one previous post the same as this one, but what can I say?  Red is my signature color. (At least per mama... I personally favor neon pink!)

Anyway, I got myself dressed to go to church with my dad today and mama thought I looked so nice, she wanted a pic.  So I posed like this:

And then like this:

And then finally like this:

And then tried to rope poor Daddy into this:

Well, I am a bit of a ham! Right, Champ?

Summer Days

Summer days call for ice cream... Which in SoCal is also known as fro yo.

And fro yo calls for glamour!
Here's what I wore to my latest outing.

Office Hours

It's not clear where I got this idea, but lately I've been very keen to keep the general public apprised of my availability.

Here is what I mean - a pic of my bedroom door:
And close up:

The first was dictated to my mom; the second was a collaboration.

I'll let you know of further status updates...

Happy Camper

Today I went to summer camp!

The camp is at my friend Audrey's school.  She was the only person I knew this morning but she introduced me to lots of new friends.
And then after camp my mom picked me up and we got to go to frozen yogurt AND go in a real fire engine!
Otto, these next photos are for you!

Feeling mellow...

Or not:
This is how I looked after having a purple Popsicle this afternoon.

Not that my day started particularly calm anyway.  Among other accomplishments, I invented a new hairdo.

What do you think?  It's like a reverse mullet-- party in the front,
And all business in the back
Do you think this is the 'do that will sweep the nation?

Leggo my Lego!

Last month my Poppa gave me a cool new big girl Lego set.  Not Duplo but real teeny tiny piece Legos.

Yesterday, I finished the whole kit with just a little help from my dad.

(Yes, I have a purple mustache.  There was face painting at our end-of-year class party.  We all seemed to opt for mustaches.)

Art Show!

Today was my last day of Preschool 1.  My class put on a special art show and invited all the mommas and daddies to see our masterpieces.

This is a Warhol-inspired self-portrait.

This is a diorama, featuring me as an emerging butterfly.

The gallery guide provides an artist's bio for me:
Katie Ray's art is concerned with the mystery and elegance of the abstract imagery that takes place on the canvas.  With youthful exuberance, her art can suddenly become charmingly impish and bold, almost beckoning you to step inside the canvas.  She treats subjects in a vein of humor and fantasy that draws deeply on the resources of the unconscious.

It was a terrific show! A smash success!

Do you remember a photo from the first week of school, with my new friend "school Audrey"?  Here we are, nine months later.  So grown up now!

Good times

My mom is a lunatic.  But that works out ok because I'm kind of a nut, too! Anyway, she's going to try to keep up my blog after all.  But be sure to visit Life with Champ and DonaldMac.blogspot.com, too.

So anyway, as you know, we've had a lot going on around here, and given my sweet tooth that has meant a fair amount of sweet treats in the mix for me!
Right before my bro was born, my Namma took me out for a small, healthy portion of fro yo. (But blame my mom for this, not my Namma who had never even been to self-serve fro yo before!)

I also recently realized a long held dream when I was given the Ice Cream Magic kit (as seen on TV), which allows me (or more accurately my mom) to spend approximately 30 minutes making about 4 ounces of slushy sweet milk concoction that is supposed to pass for 'ice cream'.  Needless to say, I love it!!!!
