Muffins

On Sunday,  I went to church with my daddy, and then when I got home I made a batch of muffins for my friend and neighbor Lisa.  Lisa has a rooster in front of her house and she lets me feed the rooster berries, and gives me roses from her garden.

So I was excited to make something for her, and I wanted to do it all myself! Mama only helped the teeniest bit. I whisked the eggs.
I stirred the batter, too.  I told my mom, "Let's add raisins to make it sweeter!" So we did!
And then I set the timer and waited...
...and waited...
 ...and waited...
And then at last!  It went "bing"!
I thought Lisa might want some lemons, too, so I picked a bunch and then we rushed off to deliver my goodies to Lisa!

Mama and I had about the best day ever.  So let us know if you would ever like a lemon or a muffin!

Hail to the Chief!

Today my family and I went to Simi Valley (with a brief detour or two to Thousand Oaks), to visit the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Air Force One Museum.
We had a lot of fun hanging with the Gipper!

Look at all the luminaries here.  Jimmy and Rosalyn, Nancy Reagan, even Barbara and George (#41, of course).
It was great to hang out with them, but you know I don't love crowds.
So, Daddy and I had a chat with Mr. President on our way to the Oval Office:

We needed to take care of some meetings (The buck stops here!) and maybe broker some peace agreements.
All of that was so exhausting that the Gipper and I headed out to the Ranch to relax with the horses.
And then we headed home.  How did we travel, you ask?

Air Force One, of course!

And that was day #1 of our family staycation weekend!

Nighty-night!

Bedtime for this sleepy head...
I'm all zipped up in my cozy PJs.
Do I remind you of someone else?

p.s., my momma is starting to become a little impatient with my insistence at growing out my bangs and yet my refusal to wear a barrette.  Look at me, it's a wonder I can see!
She keeps getting "this close" to trimming my bangs, but she's trying to find patience for these growing pains!

The many faces of me...

{i like making silly faces!}
I still need to post what few pics I have from my birthday last weekend.  Mama is trying to recover from the busy week she has had, but I will ask her for some help uploading photos soon!

On the mend...

Poor moi.  Instead of spending this past weekend whooping it up with my friends and family in celebration of my 3rd birthday...I spent it doing mostly this:

I had a bad case of the flu!  But at last, I'm on the mend.

{Despite the weekend in repose, many good memories were had and some photos were taken.  I'll post those as soon as I can...}

They say it's my birthday!

I'm gonna have a good time!

Three years ago, on Monday, April 13th, at 5:50 p.m., I came into this world and changed my momma's and daddy's lives forever!

And now I am three.   I am such a big girl! My momma and daddy love me more than words can say...
"Happy Birthday, Katherine Ray!"

The Easter Bunny Came to Town

Around here, the long Easter weekend was highly, highly anticipated.  My mama had Friday off, so we were planning a special just-us-gals trip to the Desert to visit Joshy and Abby (and their mama). And then we were coming back to meet up the Easter Bunny of course!

But then, I started to come down with a bug.  I was cranky the whole time in the desert!  So I did a lot of this:
And not so much of this:
And even less time in the pool.  :-(

I definitely rallied as best I could.  But I really couldn't rally very much, so mama and I headed home early and, well... let's just fast forward to Easter morning.

You know what's so funny, the Easter Bunny came to check on me while I was sleeping, and he dropped a couple of eggs in my bedroom!  My baby bunnies found the eggs! (As I sometimes like to put it, "I think so the Easter Bunny was here!")
He also left me a beautiful basket (my mom says you can see it here.)

And then we got dressed lickety-split and headed off to a lovely Easter Service at St. Matthew's.  Oh, oops, nope. It didn't happen that way.  For whatever reason (that I definitely don't feel like sharing here) I really, really didn't want to get dressed.
It was so, so, so mean of my mom and dad to ask me to get dressed, don't you think?
Can you believe the injustice of it all?
Well, about 2 hours later, I put on a dress that *I* picked out and cheered up a lot.  And then we went out to meet my friend Audrey and her family for a special brunch!
I looooved meeting the E.B.  I'm sure it was mutual and that he loved getting so many hugs from Audrey and me, right?
When we weren't keeping the bunny company, we ate a delicious brunch and hunted for eggs and got generally hyped up!

And now we are just trying to wind down around here... my birthday countdown is on and my mama and daddy are just hoping I get some sleep in the meantime!

No Foolin' (updates from 'round here)

Thursday was my daddy's birthday.  I think he is probably about four. Maybe as old as six.  Who knows? But I know I love cupcakes!
I made Daddy a card with a picture of him sleeping on a purple table with a cake on it.
And I bought him a blue belt that I picked out!
Then, a long time after I fell asleep, my parents apparently snuck out of the house for dinner at Moonshadow's.

 Happy Birthday!  Here's to you!

This weekend we had lots of fun with friends.  I decorated cookies at my friend Lucy's house.
And today we went to the beach and I did a bit of yoga!
I also did many art projects including a modern take on the self-portrait (series of 63.)  Here is one.
