Sunday Fun Day!

{I think I've titled a post that before, but what can I say? Today was a fun day!}
And fashionable, wouldn't you say?
I started the day by getting all dressed up.
Daddy and grandma took me to church.

I wore my princess slippers and I brought my piggie, who also got dressed up. (Do you see her cute leopard print shoes?)
After church, we went to lunch and ice cream. Doesn't that sound as fun as can be? But, guess what - we topped it with even more fun! We picked up mama and headed to the merry-go-round at the Santa Monica Pier!
Just when you think you've had as much fun as possible, we added even more fun by heading down to the beach.
Grandma helped me dip a toe into the water.
That was pretty fun, to say the least.
I love the beach!
By the time Mama joined me in the water, I was ready to get rid of the dress and really become one with the waves.
Then I showed daddy how to play in the water.
We all had so much fun!
Before we left, I had to do a "sand angel" or two.
As we left (very cold and sandy) the sun began to set.

A beautiful end to the day...

(doesn't this look like an ad for Riunite on ice?)

Thanksgiving Weekend Highlights

Let me start by saying that my mama didn't take enough pictures this weekend. She got a wee bit distracted on Thursday, what with cooking and all. But we all have wonderful memories, especially me!

All my cousins took great care of me and did so much to entertain me!
The boys also got acquainted with many of my toys, from legos to dollhouse (which was the jumping off point for a "zombie grandma" in this case below!)

So, have you heard of the sock bun? A beautiful ballerina-style bun to wear at night, leads to amazing waves the next day! All the ladies except grandma and mama did the sock bun Wednesday night (mama and grandma have short hair). Sadly, as I mentioned, my mom did not get pics of all the ladies' hair, but basically the sock bun gives "Katie Ray hair" -- smooth long waves! We highly recommend it to long haired ladies.
My cousin Lauren (I call her LoLo) also can do amazing braids, so the weekend was basically all about beautiful hair! She can even braid her own hair! But here she's braiding for Aunty Kathy.
And here, she's even managing to get some elastics into my hair!
Here I am kissing Grandma!
I tried to kiss my cousin Nicholas, but he dodged me!
We got over it! And we frosted and ate lots of yummy cookies!
Thursday was a beautiful day, and lots of fun (and lots to be grateful for.) Allie and her mama did some "turkey day" baking.
Yum!
The kids' table.
And the adults table. (Yes, we kids outnumbered them about 2:1!)
Truly, these are the coolest nicest "big kids" I could ever know, and my mama and daddy and I miss them very much already!
Come back soon, Cousins, and we'll be headed your ways before too long, too!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Many updates to come soon, but for now, a quickie post.My McKillop cousins all came to LA for the holiday. It has been so much fun!!
We have played, and played, and eaten, and played. They take very good care of me, and I feel like such a big kid with them.

It's hard to believe how much we've all grown in a year.
((This is from Palm Springs Thanksgiving 2010)
I did my best to ensure a total meltdown coincided with the family photo today, too.)
Here we are two years ago in Fresno! Ah, I remember it well.
Now, back to the present, here we are in my backyard. I cannot believe my luck that my cousins come to my house to play with me! I have expressed this to my mom this every day with incredulous delight: "My cousins are coming to my house today?"
Today I also said to both my mom and dad, separately, "Do you want to hear a joke?" ... "Put something on your head and fall down." Followed by great guffaws of laughter.
Finally, Happy Birthday to my Papa! Love you!

Twinkle toes

Tonight I built a "bunk bed" for Mama, Daddy, Champ and me all to sleep in.
I was the Mama, and Daddy was Otto (my baby cousin), and Mama was a baby, and Champ was just himself. I tucked everyone in, gave them loveys and blankies, kissed them "night night," scratched their backs, and read to them. It was a lot of work.
I took this picture of my toes.
And here's my self-portrait.

This is the outfit I put on this morning (despite her better judgement, mom lets me dress myself most of the times that I want to.)
I told my mom I wanted "match" her - she was wearing grey pants and a black sweater, so she didn't understand the match. But I meant, 'we match in our hearts.'

P.S. After my hard work tonight as a mama, you'd think I'd a) be really nice and tired and b) give a sister a break and go to bed without a fuss... but I am in my crib really giving my parents a sob story and they are wondering what happened to their gal. Hopefully this phase will pass and my ghostwriter will be better rested in future postings.
