I heart grandpa!

My grandpa, also known as Papa, came to visit me this weekend. Although the visit was far too fleeting, I decided to make it extra special and memorable {I will write about how so in a separate post.} And I had such a fun time with my Papa! I hope he comes back soon for another visit!!

Papa arrived just as I woke up from my nap. I was a little groggy, and Champy and I hadn't seen Papa in a while...

But pretty soon I recognized him and it was all smiles from there on out!

We went to the park, but mama forgot her camera. We had fun, even though I still hate swings. On our way home, I showed Papa how stubborn I can be and decided not to get back into my stroller. So Papa was nice enough to carry me as much as I wanted. He spoiled me! Brownie points for Papa!!

At home, I showed Papa some tricks. I can drink from a straw now and I can hold my own sippy cup and bottle! What a big girl.

And Papa gave me some presents!!
Thank you Easter Bunny and Thank you Nammy and Papa!

One small step for mankind..

...but many important steps for katie ray: this weekend I started to walk! Although I have taken a few steps here and there before, I have never cruised across the entire room, let alone the house.

But I did today! We didn't capture many pics because mama and daddy (and grandpa) were having too much fun watching me.

A bunch of sickos

This house has been like an infirmary for the past few weeks. First my mama got sick, then I got sick (and I am still sick), I gave my grandma my cold as a goodbye gift, and now my poor daddy is sick. I hope Champ is ready to make chicken noodle soup for everyone!

But I thought I'd post a few pics of my night. Sorry, I had just eaten dinner and smeared 1/4 of the meal on my shirt, so mama had just peeled it off of me, when I was off and running to play with Champ for a little before bedtime.

And, in case anyone is wondering, I am not *quite* walking yet. Just a step or two here or there. The most recorded steps were four.

I am about to get two front (top) teeth! They have just peeked through (believe me, it was no picnic feeling those puppies break through. I think I might be happy with just these four teeth -- no more please!)

Dinner's over, now it's playtime!

Champie, go fetch!
Thank you for bringing it back to me!

One more time?
I think I should try walking over here!
Does Champ buy my impersonation of a puppy?

Aw, mom, do I have to go to bed?

Family Fun Nights

Tonight my daddy's cousin is coming to dinner. Her name is Stephanie. I am supposed to be in bed when she arrives, but what is your guess on the likelihood that I will be wide awake to greet her!?

I am glad family will be in town to cheer up mama and daddy, because my Grandma Kate just left today and we are all missing her already.

Nammy took this picture of me with my new tub book. It's hard to keep a busy girl like me entertained!

I had so much fun with Nammy! I almost nearly started walking on several occasions (well, I did walk, but not more than four steps)
Nammy taught me to use her Kindle. It was harder than you think to turn pages!

Doppelgangers

I saw this picture of myself today:
and it reminded me of this picture of my Nammy:
A few people have told my momma that I look like my Nammy, and when I see these, I think "Hey, maybe!" {The picture of Nammy was taken at my friend Sophie's baby shower. Or rather, her momma's baby shower, right before Sophie was born! I cannot believe it was 5 years ago!}

And then, when I see pictures like these below, I think to myself, "Well, I think I actually resemble someone else a teeeeny bit more." See for yourself!

We're getting organizized

Although most of the house is still "utter chaos" {according to my mother}, she has tried to hard to get two rooms in order: my bedroom and my kitchen.

My room looks fine, but nevertheless my poor little baby doll hasn't been sleeping well. She's pretty cranky, and I can't really figure out what to do!

There, there, poor cranky baby! Why oh why won't she sleep?

As for the kitchen.... mama means well, but she really needed a little help from me getting the cabinets a little better arranged.

Champ was pooped after our busy afternoon rearranging the cabinets!

What's the Story, Morning Glory?

Life at the Casa

I am trying to get adjusted to life in the new casa. There are things I like, such as playing hide and go seek and cooking in my new kitchen.

Another Katie Ray Recipe:
1. Grab all your ingredients

2. Mix ingredients together and stir gently
3. knead thoroughly
4. Pat it and prick it and mark it with a "b"...put it in the oven for baby and me!

Phew, now I am exhausted from all that hard work!!
