There's No Place Like Home

We're home today from our visit to Grandma's. We had a wonderful time!
Just to recap a few activities from our trip...

On Sunday Daddy and I did what Daddy and I do best: watched football!

Hung out with Grandma! (If you look closely, you can see I have a very runny nose. Poor me, I got a bad cold, but Grandma cured me after just a few days of feeling rotten! It's the cuddle cure!)

Caught up on reading.
Did some beadwork.

More fun with Grandma! (Another comment for the close observer: Could you look at my cheeks? yowza! What are those people feeding me?! and check out my shadow -- holy chin action, batman!)

Did a little shopping (if only we'd made it to the outlets!)

As you can see, it was a great time!

But of course, there's no place like home. And there is someone else who is very happy we are home too!

Afoot and Lighthearted...

As my faithful readers know, last weeked I learned to crawl with tummy off the ground, actually moving both hands and both legs. Zoom zoom. Mama said, "woah, what's happening to my little baby? Slow down!!"

So Sorry mom, but just a week later, I am becoming *very* impatient to walk! Not exactly steady-Eddie, but I'm getting there. Check it out.

Mom is not super excited about this development. She was looking forward to another few weeks of happy baby on the blanket. Oh well.

Lights, Camera, Action!

Momma has been taking some videos of me, but in their raw and uncut {shaky} versions, they are only for the very strong of stomach. So until she releases her director's cut, here's a still or two.

Here I am trying on the lovey blanket Grandma Betsy made me. It is not a cloak, but it makes a cute one in a pinch, doesn't it?

And here's some crawling action here in the living room.

Here I am standing up with Momma's knee for support!!

More later...

Merry Christmas to all!

And to all a good night!
*hopefully*!

I have been so busy here in Salem at Grandma Betsy's that I have barely found a moment to blog, not to mention sleep. {Until now. I am snoozing right now!! Mama is keeping her fingers crossed that this long awaited nap is going to last until, oh, 7am tomorrow morning. please oh please!}

What with waiting up for Santa every night {you never know when he'll stop by!}, opening all my presents, playing with my toys, plotting my routes around Grandma's house... it has been very hard to find time to close my eyes.

Anywho, here are a few pics of my activities of late:

a great new book from grandma (and thanks, mom, for the hair adornment!

Oooh, I want to pull off all of these ornaments!

Yum, I am eating my first candy cane!

Momma was not really sure about giving me candy, but then we saw an old home movie of my daddy eating a candy cane on his first Christmas! And he didn't even have any help! But he was already nine months old by then, I am just a sweet wee baby of 8.5 months! So daddy helped me.

Well, that's all folks. More from here tomorrow...unless poor momma is just too tired to type a single word of my dictation!

Merry Christmas!

Twas the night before Christmas...

and all through the house, not a creature was stirring...except for *this* mouse!

{I haven't slept much since I got here!}
The stockings were hung by the {staircase} with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be here!

Here's looking at you, kid

It has been remarked on once or twice that I tend to be photographed in the same old same old, day after day. And - truth be told - some have commented that I actually *wear* the same old thing.

Well, be that as it may, it's not for lack of trying.

Sadly, I actually have worn my PJs most of the time I've been here in Oregon and most of the time I was with Nammy and Poppa, but a whole lot of thought goes into what I might wear, in an ideal world.

Momma picked three super cute outfits to wear this week. So far, I have worn none of them. But here they are!
Aren't they cute?

And, I've been looking forward to wearing a special sweater someone made me! It's still a tiny bit too big, but I'm loving the oversize look right now. (paging Lucky Magazine!)

Would Big Doll fit in my suitcase?

Silver Bells, Silver Bells

Soon it will be Christmas time!

I was very sad to see Nammy and Poppa go yesterday, but they needed to jump on Santa's sleigh to head back to NYC to visit my cousin Clementine.

And luckily I have a reason to be smiling already, because I am about to head north to Oregon to visit my Grandma Betsy!!! Salem here we come!

Are you sensing a pattern?

Guess what happened Saturday night? While I was sleeping {through the night, you're welcome, Momma and Daddy!!}, Santa visited Nammy and Poppa in the hotel and dropped off a few presents.I love all my exciting new playthings. And so does Champ!! Here we are taking a breather from the fun.
Next order of business, read all my new books, at least 3 times each. Oh how I love books!!! They are lovely to look at, and the best thing is, they are also delicious!

It's nine o'clock on a Saturday...

the regular crowd shuffles in...
Sing us a song, you're the piano {baby}
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us all feelin' all right!

Yes, I take requests!

Good times continue...

Lucky me, Nammy and Poppa were here all weekend! I decided to make it a special weekend, by learning lots of new things:

1. Every night, I slept through the night, and didn't get up until 7:15am!!! (Of course things changed as soon as they left, but I'm getting ahead of myself)

2. I learned to crawl with my tummy off the floor. I also started to practice standing!

3. I got a taste of the life of the performer: clapping, bowing, and best of all, concert piano playing. More on that later, too.

Saturday we went out to brunch so I dressed in a snazzy outfit.
Watch out, Carrie Bradshaw!!

I was a perfect lady at the restaurant!

Playing with Poppa is so much fun!!!!
